The rise of The Apprentice

We receive many emails a day just like thousands of businesses all across the world. Some are functional, some are not so positive and some are just fantastic! The contents of the email below popped into my inbox last night and I was impressed that someone had taken the trouble to send such a positive message.

My colleague Morgan joined us as an apprentice back in 2014 and her progress from a quiet and retiring person to a highly valued member of our team has been a privilege to watch. Like all of us on our own journey, we make mistakes along the way but learn from them and then our confidence grows and we start to master the skills needed to excel. In Morgan’s case she is also taking the four tough exams that will lead to the worldwide gold standard of qualification as a TEP and she found out she had passed her latest one on the way home as described in the email below.

We know what sort of person Morgan is and she epitomises the values of our firm but to receive the email below from a total stranger is indicative of her nature and values and we are very proud of her.

As we all know good people make a business what it is and Morgan we are very proud of your actions..

THE EMAIL WITH THE SENDER’S NAME REDACTED

Hi there,

I had the good fortune to meet one of your staff this evening in unusual circumstances.
She was the first person to stop and come to the aid of a cyclist who had had a nasty accident  at Sherford.
Many people had passed by but it was  Morgan who was the one who stepped up and stopped to help, to call the ambulance  and provide comfort to the poor chap.
Even though others stopped and  offered help, Morgan stayed with the cyclist, ringing the ambulance service to check on progress, until the ambulance arrived.
She said that she was planning on having a fish and chip dinner that evening to celebrate passing an exam.

I’m not sure if you have a staff award system,  but I’d be happy to contribute to say well done.
Please pass this message to your Managing Director.
Regards
XXX
