With almost 40 years experience in the legal services profession after creating the business as a 22 year old, Trevor specialises in Inheritance and Succession Planning, bringing the expertise needed to protect clients and their families. He holds his Masters (MBA) from the University of Exeter and continues to guest lecture on innovation and entrepreneurship at several universities and he sits on the Advisory Board of the University of Essex Business School and Marjon University. 

Trevor has also sat on the Advisory Panel of the Legal Services Board in London and was elected as the Honorary President and first Fellow of The B.E.S.T. Foundation in 2022. He also provides consultancy services to a number of law and financial services firms.

Trevor is a Full Member of STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).

STEP is a global professional body, comprising lawyers, accountants, financial advisors and other practitioners that help families plan for their futures. They set standards, train and educate our members, and ensure standards are upheld. Full STEP members, known as TEPs (Trust and Estate Practitioners), are experts in inheritance and succession planning.

Trevor is seen as a legal innovator and he actively supports local causes and charities in our community, in addition to investing in and mentoring young entrepreneurs.

Voted “Industry Champion” by his peers across the UK in 2022 at the “Oscars” of the estate planning profession.

In January 2019 Trevor introduced the 4 Day Week to Portcullis and by increasing salaries at the same time, became the first company in the world to do so. One newspaper labelled him “The Best Boss in the World!”.  Married to Michele and living in Plymouth with their two young children keeps him very busy when not at work! 

Mags joined Portcullis in January 2014 as our in-house Solicitor.

In a ‘previous life’ Mags worked for 10 years in International Banking & Financial Control (in and around the City of London) before moving to Plymouth in 1996. She then embarked on her Law Degree through the University of London External Programme whilst working in various sectors within Plymouth and completed her Legal Practice Course at Exeter University. Mags qualified as a solicitor in June 2008.

Any spare time is spent with her family, enjoying travel, theatre and concerts. Mags also enjoys swimming and keep fit.

Justyna joined us in the summer of 2021 after studying Criminology at Cardiff University.

She is often praised by clients for her positive attitude and determination to help and see things through to a satisfactory conclusion. Our team know her for her ability to take on any task and get the job done. A cliche, but a real “team player” for Portcullis.

Justyna is responsible for overseeing the delivery and management of all the operations within Portcullis to ensure that every other colleague can do their own job to the best of their ability and everyone is accountable to ensure the highest levels of service for our clients and professional partners.
