Plymouth Argyle Portcullis Legals Charity Sleep Out For Shekinah Mission

Portcullis Legals are delighted to announce the first ever charity Home Park Sleep Out event this summer in partnership with Plymouth Argyle Football Club.

Fans are being invited to bring their sleeping bags and blankets to the famous stadium and spend the night in the stands, on the concourses and potentially around the side of the pitch itself to raise money and awareness of three superb local charities.

The event is being held in aid of St Luke’s Hospice, the Argyle Community Trust and the Shekinah Mission – which provides help and opportunities to the homeless and those in recovery from addiction and mental ill health.

All three charities play a significant role in the lives of people in Plymouth  – we want to help raise much-needed funds for them while providing a unique experience for members of The Green Army!

The event is the first of its kind at a professional sports stadium in the South West and will be held on Sunday, August 25th 2019 from 7.30pm-7.30am. Places will be on a first come first served basis.

The idea is the brainchild of Portcullis Managing Director Trevor Worth and has been wonderfully supported by the team at Plymouth Argyle.

Trevor said:

“This is not intended to be a glamorous event. We deliberately want to keep it respectful and simplistic as there is a serious message to take on board in terms of how difficult it is for those who find themselves homeless and have to live and sleep outside.

“We shall be in a football stadium, with friends and family, on a potentially warmish night in August which is hardly a challenge but it is an opportunity for us all to come together to do something positive for our community.”

How to book

Entry fees will be donated to the three Plymouth charities. Entry is £10 per adult or £15 per adult including an under 16 (plus a small booking fee). No child under 16 can attend without an adult and unfortunately we cannot accept bookings for one adult with more than one child due to safeguarding matters. All under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult even in families with more than one child.

A food kiosk selling drinks and bacon baps will be open and it’s hoped one or two of the first team players will join in for a section of the experience, depending upon their fixture schedule.

You can book via this link – don’t delay as we expect places to fill up quickly! We’re looking forward to saying hello and joining you on the night and raising funds for three absolutely fantastic local charities who do such crucial work in our community.
